There are lessons to be learned in the Disney movies that are positive and there are many movies that empower women, like Mulan and many others. It is all how you perceive it.
At the end of the day they are all fairy tales and its up to the parents to make sure that their kids get the right messages.
As for the way the women/men are depicted, that is society's fault- not Disney.
